The Bad Sleep Well (1960) dir. Akira Kurosawa

(悪い奴ほどよく眠る / Warui yatsu hodo yoku nemuru) Bent on vengeance, a mysterious man tries to expose a corrupt scheme between government workers and powerful industrialists. A loose adaptation of Sheakspeare’s Hamlet and a masterclass in screen direction by the great Akira Kurosawa.
A very interesting and intriguing story from beginning to end. A commentary on postwar corruption and bribery in Japan and the inner decay of character.
Excellent performances by Kurosawa regulars, including Toshirô Mifune, Masayuki Mori and Kyōko Kagawa.
Music by Masaru Sato.

Must See!!!
