Paris, Texas (1984) dir. Wim Wenders

After missing for four years, a man reappears, wandering aimlessly through the Texas desert. His brother comes to help him, as more and more of his past and the reasons for his absence are revealed. A film that slowly grabs the viewer and does not let go until the very end. A touching, sad, thought-provoking tale of the hardships of life.
Well described by film critic Roger Ebert as “true, deep and brilliant!”
Fantastic performances from Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell and the young Hunter Carson.
Memorable slide-guitar score from Ry Cooder.
Beautiful imagery of the desert landscapes of the Southeast USA.
Wenders’ masterpiece won all three jury prizes at the 1984 Cannes film festival.
Based on the screenplay by L.M. Kit Carson and playwright Sam Shepard.
